While getting my ultrasound today, the tech saw a ovarian cyst. Do I have to worry?

He said that they are normal with woman and that they come and go. He said I shouldnt worry but I cant help it. Anyone else out there experienced this?

While getting my ultrasound today, the tech saw a ovarian cyst. Do I have to worry?
Perfectly normal. 75% of women have them.
Reply:Get it checked out by your doctor asap. It could be malignant, or it could cause a serious problem.
Reply:i have one right now. they are usually fluid filled and u dont have to worry about them. the doctors sometimes want to do a repeat in 3 to 6 months just to be sure it isnt actively growing.
Reply:Not to worry. My Dr. said the same thing. It wasn't a problem for me at all.
Reply:don't worry unless u bleed or have bad pain, i had cysts before and while being pregnant, and everything was fine.
Reply:Some women have ovarian cysts that spontaneously erupt on their own and cause no real problems. If it is causing you pain or discomfort then speak to your physician.
Reply:No reason to worry, usually. You get a cyst every time you have a period, sometimes the stick around for awhile, sometimes they rupture, but they shouldn't cause any serious problems.
Reply:my friend has one, they go away after awhile but they're painful... good luck :-)
Reply:i haven't personally being a guy i think that'll be a little on the impossible side. but i have had a few patients with them and they are mostly in lots and lots of pain. but your baby should be fine
Reply:I had this at about 20 weeks with my first pregnancy, it went away after I delivered and it never came back, even in my subsequent pregnancy.
Reply:That is why the tech shouldn't be telling you anything. They are not properly trained to do so and they cannot give medical advice. Your records will be checked by your physician and s/he can tell you more about this. Usually it isn't a problem if it is a cyst but you will have to wait.
Reply:my mom had ovarian cysts and she had surgery to remove them a couple times because they came back. They had alwasy been on her left side so they removed her left ovari and then one grew on her right side so they had do remove both of her overies. (over the course o5 15 years or so) in that time she had 2 kids (after me) so its not plesant by any means, but from what i gather from her case is that you can still have as many kids as you want, provided you just get the cyst removed rather then getting them removed
Reply:I have a friend that had a HUGE cyst while she was pregnant, but in her uterus. They just did a c-section when the time came for the baby, removed the cyst first, and then her son. It was no biggie, I wouldn't worry. Especially if the tech tells you it's okay, he knows what he's doing.
Reply:if it is small n not growing more no need to worry . if there will be any problem they will check it again after some time n tell u about it. u can ask the Dr. also about it she can guide u bettr.
Reply:I have PCOS...and I'm pregnant with my second child...I have cysts currently and well, did with my frist too..he's completely normal and healthy. If your doctor isnt worried you shouldnt be.
Reply:I have the same thing im in my 2nd trimester pregnant with twins and they say that is such a common thing. If there was a major concern about yours im sure the doctor would have taken precautions when he found it. Also he said to me my twins were conceived from that ovary so figure that one out?
