At which point is it best to pop a boil or cyst ?

especially if there is a fear it may become too raw or tender.

At which point is it best to pop a boil or cyst ?
My advice to you, never pop a boil, cyst or blister. This can only cause further complications or infections and even more pain. They may pop on their own, this is ok, just dont do it yourself no matter how annoying it may be. Most boils can be treated at home simply by washing the infected area with antibacterial soap, and applying a hot washer or compress which will help bring the boil to a head. Over-the-counter topical antibiotics are also effective in limiting the spread of bacterial infection. Do not squeeze as this can spread the infection. When they burst, wash the area gently until no more pus appears, then cover with a bandaid to avoid reinfection. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly, and disinfect towels by washing any properly that have touched the boil (you dont want them popping up all over your body).
Reply:never let it bust on it own
Reply:never.. go to a doctor
Reply:Don't pop it.

Apply a hot water bottle or hot compress a few times a day and keep the area clean (use hydrogen peroxide). It will clear up on its own.
Reply:Take a small anti-microbial soap chip...get wet (mushy) and apply to boil and place a bandage over it. The soap will pull the infection to surface as it dries and cause it to open...poof...your owie is on it way to being gone in less than half the time...my Gram taught me ths..and it WORKS....YAAAY!!!
Reply:wait until they are ripe and you should see a piece in the center of them. this is the core and can be removed with a tweezers. its an infected hair. I used to have them a lot and this is how the doctor treated them and he taught me how and when to do this. once the core is out treat like any other injury
