this is called Carbuncle.

cloxacillin is NOT enough as its a "weak" antibiotic, its used primarily to AUGMENT other atibiotics.

you may have to take the combination of Cloxacillin+Ampicillin ( called Augmentin ).

or you may need to use other antibiotic like Clindamycin.

Go to the doctor %26amp; get the correct traetment, this is not a simple thing (infection in a diabetic person).

good luck
Reply:Get back to the doc and ask that he culture the area for more specific bacteria typing and prescribing the best antibiotic available. Also be on the lookout for yeast infections; you might want to ask for a script for Diflucan. godloveya.
Reply:This happened to my Dad and he is a Diabetic with PD also. He had it totally removed after going thru a few procedures... Contact your physician and have it look at more carefully and hopefully he will remove it. Remember though I'm going by what my Dad went Thru .... good luck!
Reply:I would certainly seek medical attention. Being diabetic you know the complications that can arise from any little thing, don't let it get too far. Just make an appt with the doc who prescribed the cloxacillan, if he/she doesn't know what to do next see an infectious disease doc who is used to treating infection. Good luck to you.
Reply:Obviously it needs surgical removal. They do not just go away.
Reply:I've had several cysts on my neck. I'ts not a big deal and you can get them removed.
