- Weight gain.
Reply:PAIN!
Reply:Pain - I have had several - usually by the time I went to the hospital for excrutiating pain, they burst. My sister had one the size of an orange, and that required surgery. We both had sharp pains in our sides that does not subside. Could be confused with appendicitis (sp). Either way - a trip to the emergency room would be your safest bet. Trust me, you'll want to be there.
Reply:PELVIC PAIN CONSTANT DULL ACHING PAIN WITH INTERCOURSE OR PELVIC PAIN DURING MOVEMENT ABNORMALITIES BLEEDING OR MENSTRUATION ABSENT GO TO YOUR GYN AND HE OR SHE MAY ORDER A ULTRASOUND TO DETECT THE CYST BUT IT IS NOT A DISEASE CONDITION
Reply:Often patients with ovarian cysts have no signs or symptoms and ovarian cysts are a benign condition. Ovarian cysts are often an incidental finding during a pelvic ultrasound or abdominal CT scan.

If Symptoms occur, the most commonest symptom would be abdominal pain, usually it is generalised in location or over the flanks/groin region. The pain is described as a dull ache and usually occurs mid cycle (Between periods). Occasionally a cyst could rupture (haemorrage) this could course more severe pain, the pain with haemorrhage is more likely to be localised and sharp rather than dull/achey/generalised. Other symptoms might include dysparenia (painful intercourse).

Signs refer to the examination findings in a patient with ovarian cyst. Most commonly there would be no examination abnormalities. If a cyst had ruptured the patient would have abdominal/pelvic tenderness and possibly signs of peritonism (guarding, rebound tenderness, rigid abdomen). The patient may also have adenexal tenderness on pelvic exam.

There are a lot of other conditions that could present with symptoms similar to an ovarian cyst, your doctor is the only health profressional qualified to investigate this problem.
Reply:I am a man who has a good friend who suffers fromn OC - see a doctor, the sooner, the better. I don't mean to worry you. She is fine, but was told that it could have been worse. I REPEAT see your doctor!

Good luck!
Reply:pain when stomach is pressed on also pain in front sides small amounts of bleeding pain during sexual activities
Reply:I get them all the time. Every ones symptoms are different. For me i had pain on my right side or ovary and i felt bloated. My abdomen hurt to touch it. I was very uncomfortable. I could eat. I had no fever. But again every one is different. I have one right now actually. Funny thing with ovarian cysts is they can mimic symptoms of other things. The doctors thought at first that i had a kidney stone and also thought i had appendicitis. The only reliable test is to get a CAT scan. I just had one yesterday and it wasn't a kidney stone is was a cyst. This time there was no bloating feeling it was an ache like pain in my right ovary and groin area and the ache wrapped around to my back right side and that is why they thought it was a kidney stone. When i found out it was a cyst, again, they told me to take ibuprofen. The bloating feeling and pain is the fluid from the cyst when it ruptures. I felt pain in my right ovary but i have a cyst in my left ovary because the fluid leaked out and went to the right side which was pushing my right ovary. Cysts are tricky little suckers. Again a CAT scan is the best way to find out if you or anyone has one. It is definitely not something to guess about because it can be life threatening because it could be so many other things. Like appendicitis.
Reply:I had severe cramps on one side and ended up in the ER but it just dissolved by itself. Be careful and go to the DR. it could also be a tubular pregnancy!
Reply:This I can help you with I lost my right ovary because of one my cyst was softball sized and it killed my ovary. It was a corpus leuteum cyst. Most ovarian cysts are asymptomatic but in my case it cause severe pain and I got sick at my stomach also the pain was in my left lower ovarian area and my actual problem was on the right side. My regular family doc had an ultra sound done on me and said I had a small cyst on my left ovary and it just would go away so he handed my case over to a surgeon to explore it and when the surgery was performed they discovered my left ovary to be normal but my right ovary was dead because of the softball sized cyst they did laprascopy on me and even believe it or not took a picture of it and gave it to me post-op. That is an unusual size to have. I also had increased bouts of diareah with my cyst.
