Hello i recently did my ultrasound and they found choroid plexus cyst in the baby.?

they told me it will go away until the time of delivery . I am very worried. does anyone have similar experience .please write what is this ..

Hello i recently did my ultrasound and they found choroid plexus cyst in the baby.?
choroid plexus cyst without other findings on the ultrasound can be normal variant. The concern is that they have a low risk of being associated with chromosomal abnormalities(trisomies 18 most commonly). However, the risk of the association is lower than the risk of fetal loss due to amniocentesis so typically people do not recommend amniocentesis. 95% of the time they are not significant and disappear.

Good Luck.

Someone answered my question that said if you have A Ovarian cyst?

you will have trouble getting pregnant!!!! is this true????

Someone answered my question that said if you have A Ovarian cyst?
why not check with your doctor for this? A few months ago I had a sharp pain on my left. an ultrasound scan showed nothing on the left but an ovarian cyst at my right ovary. Sometimes the pain is caused by other factors, especially since ovarian cyst does not have much noticeable symptoms. in fact when you experience sharp pain when you have an ovarian cyst it's usually due to reasons such as the cyst bursting, which would come along with other symptoms such as nauseus or fever. As to whether it will affect childbirth it would depend on the type of cyst and the size of it. some cysts are functional and some are not. up to 90% of ovarian cysts are benign and do not affect childbirth in any way.

Hope this helps. And don't worry! If you feel insecure about this, go check with a doctor, ya? :)
Reply:she said that you could have problems getting pregnant. Meaning that is is a possibility, you need to consult you Dr about the facts, and as to if that is the problem for you.
Reply:Many women have ovarian cysts, sometimes more than once, they usually burst on their own, however some could require surgery. I have never know it to make a woman sterile, but in some cases it could make getting pregnant more difficult, consult your doctor about your particular situation and he will advise you.
Reply:yes its true, getting pregnant will be tough but not impossible. You have to lose a lot of weight %26amp; do a lot of exersise, jogging, walking %26amp; swiming. Check with your gynac. she may give you a corse of medication.
Reply:yes, that was me.i had a cyst that was large enough that it was blocking one of my tubes.i had to have it removed.i now have two beautiful girls.

my problem was one side wasn't producing eggs, and the one that was....was the one that was blocked.

How do you know if your pregnant if you have a cyst on one of your ovaries and fibroid tumors in your uterus?

I am sure a pregnancy test would tell still. Go to your doctor and have them perform one.

How do you know if your pregnant if you have a cyst on one of your ovaries and fibroid tumors in your uterus?
You didn't mention if you missed any periods. You should be able to get pregnant, I will tell you this that when you are pregnant your body may feed the tumors like it is the baby. It is hormones ask your doctor for more details.

A cyst in the brain is likely caused by too much alcohol. The way to get rid of it is to get on a medication and stop drinking.

How can you tell if its ovarian cancer or just a cyst?

I am having lots of pain on the right side of my abdomen along with pain that sometimes radiates into my lower back.

How can you tell if its ovarian cancer or just a cyst?
You need to see a doctor straight away. Sometimes appendicitis can feel like ovarian pain.

It could be almost anything, so you need to go have an ultrasound to check your ovaries.
Reply:Your Doctor would have to check you
Reply:It could be a number of things (other than your ovaries). You need to see a doctor.
Reply:The only way to find out for sure what it is and have it diagnosed properly, is by going to the doctors or gyn. They are the experts in situations like this. But having such pain in your abdomen is nothing to play around with. You should go to the doctors ASAP so you can find out whats going on. Once you know, you will then have a piece of mind and can finally put your mind at ease. However, women tend to get cyst in varies of places in their body.....so you dont wanna take that chance.

But please, go to the doctors/gyn. You want them to see whether its a cyst or ovarian cancer before it's too late.

Good Luck :-)
Reply:You can't. My girlfriend had the same problem for over a year. Her symptoms included:

***Extreme pain on her right side that radiated to the back

***Serious headaches and migraines that made her vomit

***Irregular bleeding. She would stay 6-8 weeks on a period with a week or two off then right back to the 6-8 week thing again.

***Mood swings. She was so frantic once she was going to get into her car and take a plane to a village in Tibet with a monk as her guide

***Her bowels were jacked up. She never had a solid crap. Always runny, or accompanied by stomach pain and cramping.

Haye, this is my best girlfriend, we talk about shyt like that girl!

When it was all said and done with (she had a partial hysterectomy approxinamtely 3 weeks ago) her right ovary was malfunctioning, causing the cysts to build up and were wrapped so tight around her fallopian tube that her bowls had started leaking into it and was poisoning her body. Later, the cysts were determined to be hemoglobin or cysts that carried blood.

Ask for an ultrasound will. Ask your doctor what other things may be causing the cysts.

Talk to your doctor, find out the facts and be vigilant about it. When cysts rupture completely they can cause cancer. The best thing right now is to identify and treat what is causing the pain on the right side of your body which may or may not be a cysts. Get an ultrasound.

Whats the best way to relieve the pain of an ovarian cyst?

Aleve works very well; if that doesn't work, you can try 600 mg (that's 3 regular Advil or Ibuprofen or Motrin tablets) of Ibuprofen every 6 hours. Be sure to eat something when you take them, they can be hard on your stomach. You can combine either of these (Aleve or Ibuprofen) with Tylenol (Acetaminophen) for more pain relief, but be sure not to exceed the amount of any given medication recommended on it's bottle.

Generally:

Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin): 600 mg (3 x 200 mg tabs) every 6 hours (for a cyst)

OR

Naproxen (Aleve): 1 tablet every 12 hours

and you can add

Acetaminophen (Tylenol): 2 x 500 mg every 4 hours, DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN THIS, it is bad for your liver.

Good luck, if the pain is not controlled with this, call your Ob/Gyn and tell them what you have taken and how bad the pain is.

Julie

PS, a heating pad works well on top of the affected side to help with the meds. A hot bath can help in the same way.

PPS, [IMPORTANT]***This is all assuming that you have already SEEN an Ob/Gyn and had the cyst diagnosed and measured; a large (%26gt; 5cm) cyst usually has to be removed because there is a danger of it twisting and causing trouble. If you have NOT seen somebody, and you have pain that you just THINK is a cyst, you need to be seen. There are other things that can cause that kind of pain, that need medical care, and some of them are fairly urgent.***

Whats the best way to relieve the pain of an ovarian cyst?
take it out *****
Reply:there is nothing you can really do. you can try and take some IB Profen (advil) for the pain.
Reply:I went to the dr. and he gave me a week's worth of prescription pain killers. That helped more than anything along with relaxation and not moving around much.
Reply:See a doctor as soon as you can. I had a ovarian cyst and I waited so long to see a doctor that I was very weak and dizzy. I had to have it taken out.Good luck. I feel great now.
Reply:I had ovarian cysts on both my right and left side. I was taking anti-inflammatories but they just upset my stomach even with eating so I started taking tylenol 3 for the pain and they worked great. I went for my second ultrasound and they shrunk on their own. I recommend talking to your doctor though.

What is the nursing care for a patient with an hydatid cyst?

No special nursing care. It is not transmitted from one human to another. Where is the cyst? It is found most commonly in the liver or lung. Rarely, it is found in the brain, heart or elsewhere. Nursing care depends upon the site and symptoms. It is mostly transmitted from dogs. It is treated with an anthelminic like albendazole. After it shrinks, it may be removed surgically.

Hydatid cyst is a parasite, a kind of tapeworm. Its larvae are transmitted to dogs and wolves by eating sheep carcasses. The larva develops to the adult worm in dog, and eggs are passed in dog faeces. Humans can ingest them, and the larva develops in the human body. It cannot grow to adult in humans.Symptoms depend upon the location in the human body.

My brother is australian aged 46 years he had a small cyst removed from his lung?

they also checked his stomach and found a cancerous growth called a 'cygnet ring'. i believe this is very rare found mainly in japanese women. HOW SEVERE IS THIS SYMPTON AND CAN IT BE TREATED

My brother is australian aged 46 years he had a small cyst removed from his lung?
sorry to hear about your brother.

Some details given in link below.

Gastric cancer can be classified as - intestinal type (well differentiated adenocarcinoma) and diffuse (cygnet ring or poorly differentiated type). Intestinal cancers usually appear to form lumpy tumors but the diffuse type is more likely to spread to the stomach wall. H. pylori may cause Mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT), which becomes malignant to form low grade lymphoma of the stomach.

Reply:well the cyst in the lung might be unrelated to the "cygnet ring". Was the cyst malignant?

Is it ok to go tanning when you have an ovarian cyst or cervical cancer?

OMG, please contact your DOCTOR b4 tanning.. dont rely on this info from YahooAnswers. you can even call a hospital and ask any nurse, they'll be able to tell you!

Is it ok to go tanning when you have an ovarian cyst or cervical cancer?
well...for your sake, I hope the sun can't get to it....
Reply:Are you going for skin cancer too? I'd avoid it.
Reply:Talk to your doctor. I would not go tanning if I had any type of cancer.
Reply:yes it's fine as long as you don't have skin cancer
Reply:No. Tanning (if using UV rays) are inherintly bad for ur skin. If you need to tan, use a spray tan. Many tanning saloon now have spray tans which are safe. High dooze of UV rays can speed up ur cancer especially if its skin related. Even if its not skin related (like ovarian), tanning is bad for it. Dont' fry ur ovaries.. stay away from UV tanning.
Reply:If you want to add skin cancer to your prognosis, go for it. Otherwise, use a tantowel, they are the least-streaky fake tan option out there (in my humble former-beauty-store-employee opinion)
Reply:yes...unless you are having chemo or radiation for the cervical cancer..then it is not ok....and besides..if you already have a cancer, why would you want to risk getting another cancer just so you can look tan? health is more important...forget tanning
Reply:Tanning in itself (UV Rays) is a carcinogen. I don't believe they would affect a current cancer but would certainly lead to new cancerous exposure so I would not risk it. There are a lot of great sunless tanners out there now as well as spray tans!
Reply:Those two medical conditions are in two ballparks. Ovarian cysts do not preclude you from tanning. But always wear sun tan lotion with a high SPF...like maybe 40-45...to prevent skin damage. As for Cervical Cancer, are you on cancer chemoptherapy?. THere are many drugs that you cannot be in the sun's rays due to intensive skin sensitivity. Consult your pharmacist and doctor.
Reply:If you want to risk getting skin cancer
Reply:I know you have heard it before, but I'm gonna say it again. You should never, ever, ever, ever, go tanning. nothing is more harmful to your skin that exposing it to those artificial UV lights. Tanning itself, is a surge of melanin that comes to surface of your skin while you are, for lack of a better term, cooking yourself. Tanning is the bodys response to the damage that you are causing.

Please, for your own sake, stay out of those beds, they really are no good for you. If you are in poor health especially.
Reply:If you have ovarian cyst or cervical cancer do you still have the mood to go tanning? Get yourself treated first, that is top priority.
Reply:What do you want skin cancer too? Be happy with the color skin that you have-it is part of being you!
Reply:It seems that you would want to concentrate all your efforts on not dying if you have cancer, so I question whether this is a joke or not. Just in case it's not a joke, here's a little different take on cancer treatment--

In 1990, I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma, stage 3-B, but I've survived. My doctors were great people, but they really couldn't tell me squat about cancer. During the year in treatment, I started learning about alternative medicine.

Here's what I've figured out--FIRST, somebody--probably sympathetic to the AMA--is getting my answers deleted as 'not a question or an answer', because they don't want you to know about this. So if you want to keep this information, you need to copy it to a wordpad document quickly, before it disappears. Hopefully, they'll give up and stop that nonsense soon, but I wouldn't count on it. Now, here goes--

Poor nutrition, a sedentary lifestyle and reduced oxygen weaken the immune system. Once that happens, our body becomes vulnerable to common stressors. Stressors can be environmental, like viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, food additives, electromagnetic waves or pollution. They can be internal things like emotional or job stress, or poisonous people in our lives. And aging is also a contributing factor.

[weak immune system] + [stressors] = MAJOR ILLNESS (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.)

Our bodies have 60 trillion--yes, trillion--cells, and there are always some mutating into cancer cells, but a healthy immune system kills them before they have a chance to get a foothold in the body.

It takes a LONG time, usually, or an exrtaordinary amount of stressors, to degrade the immune system to the point where it won't do its job, but once cancer has formed, it will generally spread rapidly.

THIS IS IMPORTANT! There are ways to BEAT cancer that the AMA is keeping from the American public, that are currently being used in Europe and around the world! Here are some great books on the subject. Some are getting hard to find--

Type 'used books' into your browser and find a good site, then type in the ISBN numbers and get some great help cheap.

I know of people whose cancer has 'spontaneously remitted' (WENT AWAY for no known reason) after they went on programs of herbs and nutrition that restart our immune systems.

The American Medical Association (AMA) and the pharmaceutical companies control medical law and the FDA in this country with heavy lobbying and a revolving door policy. WHY would they want to do this? It's about the money. In 2004, medicine (doctors, hospitals, researchers and pharmaceutical firms) received 1.1 TRILLION dollars--1/4th of the total earnings (GNP 4.4 trillion) in the U.S. This is astounding, because it's like 1/4th of our citizens--about 75 MILLION people--worked the whole year just to pay the nation's medical expenses!!

That's just too big to care about individuals. You and your family must look out for yourselves to stand a chance of being healthy. This is not a joke, and I'm not selling anything--just trying to help. There is MUCH that cancer victims can do about it. Best of luck

What are the chances of losing my ovary with a large cyst (28x16x8 cm)?

chances are good. but you can still have a child with one ovary.A friend of mine had an ovary removed as a teen. Now she is an adult with 3 kids.

What are the chances of losing my ovary with a large cyst (28x16x8 cm)?
If it's too large, they probably will take the ovary with it... but the good news is that women have two ovaries and you can still get pregnant with one.
Reply:It depends on how the cyst is attached to your ovary. I lost my left ovary in February with a cyst but the cyst had totally engulf my ovary and their was no way to get it off my ovary with out damage to the ovary. The Dr went in with the plan to take the cyst with the possibility of taking the ovary and that's what happen. These are questions to ask the Dr too

How long would it have taken for a 28x16x3 cm ovarian cyst to grow?

i have no idea whatsoever what that is lol or how long it would take

How long would it have taken for a 28x16x3 cm ovarian cyst to grow?
I'm not sure there's an answer to your question - some cysts grow very quickly, some grow slowly. If you've been diagnosed with a cyst of this size, your doctor is better able to advise you. When I was diagnosed with cysts some years ago, the pain began in December but I chose to ignore it. By the time I saw a GYN in June, they had grown to such a size that I was advised to have a total hysterectomy immediately. One of the cysts was the size of a freakin' football; the other as big as a grapefruit. Fortunately for me, they were benign, and fortunately for you, doctors no long do hysterectomies so automatically. Good luck to you.

What kind of doctor should I see to have a ganglion cyst removed?

It just popped up on my wrist one day, and I ignored it for a while, but now I feel like it might be getting larger, and I think it's putting a strain on the joint, too, so it's time to get rid of it...

What kind of doctor should I see to have a ganglion cyst removed?
If you just need it aspirated, I would suggest an ortho or hand specialist in your area. Sometimes your GP will do it. It just depends on the facilities they have availiable. But if you've let it go for a long time I'd go with the orthopedic surgeon to have it completely removed.
Reply:You should see your primary care doctor, who can evaluate the cyst and also refer you to the right specialist.
Reply:u need to go to a gernal surgeon and it is very normal a physician can also handle this by giving and injection in it if it is not big.

Reply:Cysts can generally be removed quite easily. See a doctor about getting this done. I'm sure you really are a sweet guy but this huge cyst is probably taking away your self confidence. Girls are very attracted to a confident guy.

Do it. You'll be glad to get rid of the useless thing.
Reply:cause you are a really sweet guy or at least you are trying to be because you think that's what women want, it is manipulative, they want you to be yourself so they know what they are getting, if you are an azzhole then be one, some women love azzholes, but don't try to fake them out with your "niceness". you give them the willies with all that nice crap. why don't you have that cyst removed or is it a crutch?

My 15 yr old shitzu had surgery to remove a large cyst. What OTC med do you recommend other than aspirin?

DON"T DO IT!!! dog's can't break down aspirin and it can cause toxicity because the liver can't metabolize the salicylic acid. Call your vet and see if he can get you a Rx for an animal-friendly pain medication like ketoprofen or etodolac, neither one of these should be given for more than 5 days at a time, so it should suit your needs. call your vet before doing ANYTHING like home-medicating you dog after surgery.

good luck give your dog a hug for me!

My 15 yr old shitzu had surgery to remove a large cyst. What OTC med do you recommend other than aspirin?
ask the vet. You cant give people medicine to a dog unless directed by a vet.
Reply:For what? What are you trying to treat?
Reply:You never want to give your pet any OTC meds without consulting your vet. Your pet is older and could have medical conditions not seen with the naked eye. You also want to ask your vet because you will need the dosage that would be safe for your dog.
Reply:Nothing over the counter. Tylenol can be lethal to dogs. Your dog is 15 years old for goodness sakes. You have done something right all these years...do not blow it now. Please ask your vet. If the dog needed further meds your vet would have let you know...

Best! :-)
Reply:We can give you our suggestions, but I am a Pharmacy Tech and I know that it is best for myself not to give advice and opinion about meds, but I would recommend asking a professional who can make sure this med is not too strong for your pet and also will not harm your pet. Every person and animal is different and it would be in your pet's best interest to call your vet or a local pharmacist to get their perspective. It all depends on your pet and his circumstances.
Reply:I would not recommend anything, did your vet not give you pain medication and/or antibiotics-if not ask your vet but do NOT treat yourself.
Reply:My little dog was always given one baby aspirin by my vet for pain after surgery. Other meds for other things. Best advice is to call your vet and ask.
Reply:Asprin after surgery is not a good idea and that is the only med I know of otc for dogs.

Call your vet and ask if you could pick up something for pain.
Reply:asprin is not a good idea
Reply:You need to give it whatever the vet gave you.
Reply:Human pain medicines are often very toxic and deadly for your pets and given in way different doses than they are for humans and can kill them. Don't do it. Depending on what type of surgery it was she or he might not need it.
Reply:heat would probably aid in taking the pain away.

a heat pad on low under her bedding may help

keep her away from the cold air vents unless she moves to them on her own

warm steam humidifier close to where she rests

warm baths in Epsom salts may also help her aches

I get pain on my lower left abdomen. Can it be cyst on my overies.?

Go to the OB/GYN immediately!!! I had that problem when I was 14...turned out to be poly-cystic ovarian syndrome. I've had about 4 surgeries and been on different meds until I found what controlled it...Nuva Ring has worked for me for over 2 years. Not trying to scare you but your body is precious don't delay. Once the pain got so bad I passed out when I came to I crawled to the phone to dial 911 my niece was with me. She was sound asleep (4 at the time). It was really scary bc it came from no where. Said all that to say it maybe something small but even if it is PCOS it's treatable with hormones usually birth control and it's not that bad. I'm about to be 23 now so it's been 9 years with it. GO to the dr. girlie...good luck!!!

Cysts are really common so it's possible. An ultrasound can tell for sure - go see your doc, they'll be able to tell you correctly.
Reply:Very possible. If it gets really bad or continues for a few weeks, I would head to the doctor.
Reply:it could be ,but could just be some pain that comes and goes

In the pap smear examination can also identify that there is cyst aside cancer? please?

A Pap Smear test is NOT a diagnostic test. In other words it is not a test that can diagnose any specific illness. It can only detect changes in the cells of the cervix. In other words, it can alert a doctor to a possible pre-cancerous condition of the cervix only! If you suspect that you have some type of ovarian cyst or cysts, then I would seek the attention of a physician so an ultrasound or other diagnostic test can be done.

In the pap smear examination can also identify that there is cyst aside cancer? please?
Pap smear detects abnormal cell growth in the cervics
Reply:yes, if there is anything going on that is not normal they would let you know. dont worry it will be fine
Reply:Honestly, its better you consult a specialist. I really want to help but I don't think I can give better answers than specialist do. Sorry.

good luck

In the month of july i got laproscopy operation to remove cyst. is it a cure for the pcos or it will come?

There is no cure for PCOS. It will come back and likely be worse. However it may work for a while if you are trying to conceive so the first few months are the most fertile. However if you aren't trying to conceive I suggest asking your doctor about treatment for PCOS which usually includes birth control (if you want regular periods although I don't recommend this if you will ever want children because it makes PCOS worse after you stop taking them....I know because it happened to me) OR metformin/glucophage which helps to regulate you. The only thing with the metformin/glucophage treatment is that you may become regular and will have to use protection to avoid pregnancy if you dont' want it.

In the month of july i got laproscopy operation to remove cyst. is it a cure for the pcos or it will come?
Unfortunately, there is no cure for PCOS, only treatments you can do to make symptoms lessen.

If you have PCOS, then you're going to have it for the rest of your life, sorry. I would talk to your doctor about getting on a birth control that fits your needs to prevent any other cysts from showing up, unless you're ttc. Really pay attention to what your doctor says about other things too that can help you to feel better. There is a world of difference between when I'm doing what I should to watch what I do and exercise and when I'm not taking care of myself.
Reply:Consult a good homeopath. He will solve your problem forever.
Reply:There is no surity that it will not happen again, you need periodic checkups to rule out same

My doctor just called me and told me I have a cyst on my left ovary and I am 8 weeks pregnant....?

They want to do another ultrasound on me at my next appointment to make sure that it is not bothering the baby. Should I be worried ? She said there is nothing to worry about now unless it starts getting bigger. Has this happened to anyone else I am so worried. It is driving me crazy my appointment is not for 3 more weeks.

My doctor just called me and told me I have a cyst on my left ovary and I am 8 weeks pregnant....?
they took measurements and will monitor some women tend to get them and with in a week or two the cyst shrinks back down, most women get them with every period, and they usually go away rigth after the period, in some cases they dont and sometimes they do burst, but I believe it is actually more common for them to go away on their own... i wouldnt worry, i will pray yours goes away
Reply:I get ovarian cysts pretty regularly and did while I was pregnant as well. There isn't anything to worry about, they are right. It is eventually going to bust though, as mine always do. When they do you will feel some pain~so make sure you know which side it is on so you will understand what is going on when it hurts. Just take some tylenol when it begins to hurt. It really only hurts for a couple hours and then it's gone. (It kind of feels like the pain you get in your side after you were running.) So don't worry, everything is fine.
Reply:I had a cyst on my ovary around 8 weeks as well. It's very common to get them in pregnancy. Mine went away on it's own. You should have nothing to worry about.

What is the meaning of capittonage in the treatment of hydatid cyst ?

It is a Surgical closure of a cyst cavity.

IN DETAIL IN THE TREATMENT OF HYDATED CYST

Diagnosis of pulmonary hydatid cysts is generally based on clinical and radiological findings. Pulmonary hydatid disease presents a wide range of radiological findings [5]. Uncomplicated cysts are seen as round opaque lesions on chest radiography. Infection and perforation may change the radiographic appearance of hydatid cyst, which may lead to an incorrect diagnosis and delayed treatment. Although infected cysts are usually associated with perforation, this is not generally true and some ruptured cysts may remain uninfected [6,7]. Computed tomography (CT) may be helpful in establishing the diagnosis in complicated cysts, but the routine use of CT is not recommended unless a complicated hydatid cyst is suspected. [8]. CT is also helpful to detect malignant lesions in elderly patients and a useful guide for surgeons, allowing to perform a single operation for bilateral pulmonary and concomitant liver cysts.

Although several clinical laboratory studies including, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, Casonis intradermal test, and the indirect hemaglutination test are believed to be useful in the diagnosis, these tests/interventions are not reliable for reported sensitivity rates vary significantly [9,10,11]. Therefore these tests are not used for diagnosis routinely. Although a recent report has suggested medical therapy with albendazole in patients with hydatid cyst disease [12], surgery continues to be the treatment of choice in pulmonary hydatid disease. Chemotherapy alone is not reliable in controlling this disease. Albendazole is used routinely only in the treatment of patients with thoracoabdominal multiple hydatid disease, those with complicated hydatid cysts of the lung, in patients that have undergone nonradical resection, in patients with recurrent cysts and in inoperable cystic hydatidosis.

Operation is the treatment of choice for pulmonary hydatid cysts. Various surgical procedures have been described in the literature, namely, excision of the entire cyst by enucleation (Barret technique), excision of pericyst (Perez Fontana), cystotomy, capitonnage, wedge resection, segmentectomy, and lobectomy [2,6]. The choice of surgical technique depends on the conditions encountered during surgery. As a rule, the lung parenchyma should be preserved as much as possible in patients with pulmonary hydatid disease and radical procedures must be avoided [13]. If, however, bronchiectasis or severe inflammation is present, the affected lung should be excised. Lung resection was carried out in 3 (3.2%) of our patients with infected cysts. In our series, we tried to avoid lung resection in treatment of the infected cyst as much as possible and we believe this policy has contributed to the successful outcome in our patients. For this reason, we have concluded that parenchyma resection should not be the first choice for the treatment of an infected hydatid cyst. Decortication was performed in 5 patients (5.4%), because of the pleural thickening. Conservative surgical techniques, such as cystotomy plus capitonnage constituted the routine surgical approach in our clinic. But, recently, we started to perform cystotomy plus closure of bronchial openings technique. While conservative surgical technique such as capitonnage is widely performed for the management of the residual cystic space, it can cause atelectasis by obliterating the bronchus surrounding the cyst or the residual cavity may not be obliterated completely by this procedure. Especially in patients with perforated cysts, postoperative complication rates can be lowered by the application of the cystotomy plus closure of bronchial openings technique.

About 20% of patients with lung hydatid cysts also have cysts in the liver. Pulmonary hydatid cyst patients with concomitant hepatic cysts are approached through a right thoracophrenotomy if the liver cysts is a) located on the upper surface of the liver, b) located in the upper and posterior part of the right lobe of the liver, c) penetrating through the diaphragm into the pleura, lung, or pericardium, and d) located in the upper part of the left lobe of the liver [14].

In conclusion, CT scans of the chest and upper abdomen are helpful for diagnosis and for selection of the appropriate surgical approach in patients with complicated hydatid cyst of the lung. Conservative surgical procedures should be used as first choice. The lung parenchyma should be preserved as much as possible. In patients with coexisting liver cysts, thoracotomy or median sternotomy accompanied by transdiaphragmatic approach is preferable. An appropriate surgical approach results in low complication and recurrence rates.

The doctor called me and said I have a small ovarian cyst is this somthing to worry?

about? I have'nt had a period in 6 months could this be the reason? being 46 or is it menopause?

The doctor called me and said I have a small ovarian cyst is this somthing to worry?
I don't know about the menopause/no period part of your question, but I know about cysts. I had a cyst after stopping taking the shot for birth control, but I was unaware of it. I started having pain near one of my hips, especially during sex. Then one night it was pretty uncomfortable, and just as I was about to tell my hubby to stop, it burst. I thought I was gonna die I hurt so bad! My poor traumatized hubby rushed me to the emergency room, thinking he had caused my pain, but by the time I saw a doc, I was already feeling better. He told me what the cause of my pain was, and that it would go away quickly. It did. There were no other effects, and I'm perfectly fine. Your cyst will probably go away by itself, but if you start feeling pain near the inside of your hipbone, you can guess that your cyst has gotten bigger and see a doc within 24 hours to see if you can prevent an emergency room visit like mine!

What is the name for the surgery of a dermoid cyst on your ovary?

Definition of Dermoid

Dermoid: Also called a dermoid cyst of the ovary, this is a bizarre tumor, usually benign, in the ovary that typically contains a diversity of tissues including hair, teeth, bone, thyroid, etc.

A dermoid cyst develops from a totipotential germ cell (a primary oocyte) that is retained within the egg sac (ovary). Being totipotential, that cell can give rise to all orders of cells necessary to form mature tissues and often recognizable structures such as hair, bone and sebaceous (oily) material, neural tissue and teeth.

Dermoid cysts may occur at any age but the prime age of detection is in the childbearing years. The average age is 30. Up to 15% of women with ovarian teratomas have them in both ovaries. Dermoid cysts can range in size from a centimeter (less than a half inch) up to 45 cm (about 17 inches) in diameter.

These cysts can cause the ovary to twist (torsion) and imperil its blood supply. The larger the dermoid cyst, the greater the risk of rupture with spillage of the greasy contents which can create problems with adhesions, pain etc. Although the large majority (about 98%) of these tumors are benign, the remaining fraction (about 2%) becomes cancerous (malignant).

Removal of the dermoid cyst is usually the treatment of choice. This can be done by laparotomy (open surgery) or laparoscopy (with a scope). Torsion (twisting) of the ovary by the cyst is an emergency and calls for urgent surgery.

Dermoid cysts of the ovary are also called ovarian teratomas.

What is the name for the surgery of a dermoid cyst on your ovary?
the surgery is usually a laparoscopic cystectomy - that is, using a laparoscope to go into the abdomen and excise the cyst mass. If this doesn't work then sometimes the docs may have to make an opening into the abdomen and get it directly.

I had my upper wisdom tooth pulled. Dentist found a cyst and lots of fluid came out.?

3 days later the open hole has a foul smell too it and I had to rinse puss out of my mouth in the morning. Is this a sign of infection? If so how do I rid myself of infection? No antibiotics have been prescribed so far.

Yes, it sounds like an infection. Call your dentist and explain what's going on.

How long after fertilization in pregnancy does a corpus leutum cyst rupture?

The corpus luteum (a latin term, for the previous poster, which is used in medcine here in the USA) forms after ovulation from the follicle the egg ruptures out of. If fertilization doesn't occur, it will descinigrate after about 14 days. In the case of fertilization and pregnancy, however, it continues to function for about 8-10 weeks, providing hormones to maintain the pregnancy until the placenta takes over. Some women experience pain/slight bleeding upon rupture of the corpus luteum (I happened to), but others feel no pain at all. It is called an ovarian cyst only because of the size (over 3 mm, which is the standard definition of a cyst). Hope this helps.

How common is it for a woman to have a Cyst in her breast?

What is the solution?

How common is it for a woman to have a Cyst in her breast?
Sometimes it can be fibroid and a result of too much caffenine. Get a mamogram ASAP! That is the best assessment of breast nodules. If it is truly a cyst-- they can use a long needle and local pain killer to aspirate the cyst and get the fluid out.

What is the best and safest way to remove a cyst just under the skin?

Is there something to put on the skin surrounding the area to deaden the pain before cutting?

What is the best and safest way to remove a cyst just under the skin?
PLEASE DONOT OPEN THE CYST. YOU CAN POTENTIALLY POP IT UNDER YOUR SKIN AND SPREAD THE INFECTION TO OTHER AREAS OF YOUR BODY..

DONT DONT DONT DO IT!

I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.

Here is a link :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradeniti...

If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.

Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN

and yahoo, and I am open for questions!

I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.
Reply:You can get an antiseptic cream- I get them from work but you can get it from your pharmacy I'm sure-

I have used a needle (sterilized- again from work) to extract one.. If it is not tiny then don't do it yourself- if you still decide to do it yourslelf MAKE SURE you have got sterile instruments.. really- it will get infected and be horrid...

Don't cut too deep
Reply:Ice..?

I'm not exactly sure if I'd do this myself... Have you tried anything to like.. draw it out or something.. Castor Oil, Tea Tree Oil.. other OTC products? That could really be a painful disaster if you try this and mess up... When all you really had to do was go see a doctor =\

If you do though just be careful.. and goodluck.
Reply:i have dr get mine..i wouldnt do it myself. there things that could go wrong like infections and bleeding..

Does anyone know of a natural remedy for a ganglion cyst?

The natural or old remedy is to slam a hard bound book over the area of the cyst. It is supposed to make it burst. Personally, I would rather you log on WebMd and type ganglion cyst treatment and see what it tells you. Then when you make an appointment with a general surgeon (which I recommend) you will have a lot of knowledge about the ganglion and will be able to discuss options with your surgeon.

You may also want to find homeopathic remedies for ganglion cysts. Just type it like that and see what you get on the web.

I had one and it eventually went away. So just check to make sure and....Hey, Happy Holidays.

Does anyone know of a natural remedy for a ganglion cyst?
I broke mine by slamming it between two hardcover books about 14 years ago. It was very painful. I don't think I would recommend this as a good home remedy but it worked for me.
Reply:hit it. they used to call them bible cyst, cause people would hit them with a big bible to bust it. it will come back though, unless you have surgery to get rid of it completely.
Reply:I have one on my wrist/hand. I hate it. I had it removed a few years ago...cut it out and left me a nice ugly scar....it came back bigger and more painful about 6 months later. I wish I had just left it alone to begin with.

I have thought about getting really drunk and hitting it really hard, but several doctors told me not to do that cause you can break your hand. Also, sometimes I wake up and my whole arm is asleep because I slept on it wrong...thought about hitting it with a book then too....maybe I am chicken, but mine is big and really hard and I don't know if hitting it would work.

I don't think there is really much else to do.

I have to have my ovaries removed because of a cyst on one of them and I'd like to know what to expect after.

I want to know if I will experience menopause once my ovaries come out and what should I expect and what can I do to help any symptoms.

I have to have my ovaries removed because of a cyst on one of them and I'd like to know what to expect after.
In 1995 I had my left ovary and its tube as well as half of my right ovary removed, many surgeries later I finally had a complete hysterectomy in 2000. I went into immediate menopause but before I was out of surgery they put a hormone patch on me. The hormone patch helped with the hot flashes I experienced. My body hasn't changed much other than I gain weight easier so I have to watch what I eat. I still have my sex drive (its not as great as it was, but its still there) and I don't have a beard or any kind of weird facial hair some people told me I might have.

Everyone is different, I finally had the rest of my ovary taken out because it wasn't functioning properly. You know your body, talk with your doctor, don't be afraid to ask questions, stay on top of them with your questions, expect answers and take nothing less.

The hormone therapy is a bit trickey because of what the side effects of taking or using them are. Talk to your doctor about this, I'm 32, almost 33 and I use the patch called Vivelle, its low dose but it keeps my moods stable and I don't have hot flashes. I know the risks associated with doing this but it is MY choice, you need to make your choice on what YOU want, no one else can do that and if they try do not let them. You can also try natural remedies and work with someone who is knowlegable.

Good Luck if you need to talk email me anytime.
Reply:Women's bodies are different, I would talk to the doctor tha twill be doing you surgery!
Reply:You will go through immediate menopause - complete cessation of periods, probably mood swings, hot flashes, irritability, and vaginal dryness.

Depending on your age, you should seriously consider supplemental estrogen therapy for a while.

Are you sure that BOTH ovaries will be removed? You can have a perfectly normal life with only one, and you won't need hormone therapy. Check into that.

Please consider getting a second (or even a THIRD) opinion. This seems pretty radical for a cyst on ONE ovary.

Unless they're discussing cancer, there shouldn't be a reason to remove both ovaries for something affecting only one!
Reply:I had a cyst on each of my ovaries, but I did not have to have my ovaries removed. My doctor removed only the cysts. But talk with your doctor. My surgery was not to bad, felt like I got punched in the stomach very hard. I was able to go home the same day and start moving around the next day, but limited activity for about 2 weeks. Good Luck.
Reply:Forced menopause.

Instant %26amp; no time to have it sneak up on you gently.

Do they have to take both? Do they have to take them at all??

Look it up, ask questions, this is *FEMALE CASTRATION*...

Ask for a second opinion, talk to a FEMALE doctor!

This will affect you as soon as you wake up %26amp; HARD!

Please get all the info you can before you go under the knife!
Reply:when you have your ovary's removed you most likely will experience menopausal symptoms. the best thing to do is talk to your doctor about (hrt), hormone replacement therapy to ease you into your surgically induced menopause. this will stop hot flashes night sweats and most other symptoms.

Do you need to have surgery if you have a cyst on your neck?

This is a question for a friend %26gt;~%26lt; She is flipping out because she heard rumors about it

Do you need to have surgery if you have a cyst on your neck?
if the cyst is cancerous most likely yes they will have to do surgery so that the cancer doesn't spread also if the cyst is painful she will want to get rid of it and they only way to get rid of a cyst is to have surgery..the doctor will have to take a biopsy of the cyst and they can then decide to remove it or drain it..if the cyst starts to get an odor then it is infected and she will for sure need to have it removed...hate to be the bearer of bad news but tell her i wish her the best and good luck....
Reply:uhh don't you need surgery if you have any kind of cyst?
Reply:cysts are not dangerous if she gets surgery it will be considered "cosemetic" and it will cost a bundle. As long as it isnt bothering her just leave it alone
Reply:In a word, no. In many words, my daughter had a cyst on her neck when she was 9 months old or so. It was a water cyst and cleared up on its own. My son had a cyst on his neck in his early teens, and it was aspirated (the doctor stuck a needle in and sucked out the fluid). It depends on the doctor, the type of cyst, there are a lot of variables.

Tell your friend to listen to a medical professional instead of rumors; she'll sleep a lot better at night.
Reply:not necessary...only when pain gets worse and worse......bear in mind it leaves ugly scare so better not.My sister has one apparently a lot of people have it but she refuses to have it operated
Reply:It really depends on the type of cyst (and if it's actually a cyst). If it is not deep or lodged in a muscle a surgeon can remove it in his office with local anisthetic. What we thought was a cyst in my neck was lodged deep in the muscle and turned out to be a reactive lymphnode and needed to be removed in the hospital (still was a piece of cake surgery). Her best bet is to see her MD to have the cyst looked at. Most doctors feel with cysts that if they're not bothering you then leave them alone.

How can you shrink a pimple? I have this annoying cyst like zit on my cheek no pus comes out of it.?
regular toothpaste not the gel, put it on at night. or

PIMPLES: Three tablespoons of Honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root.

SKIN INFECTIONS: Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.
Reply:that means you must wait for it to get to its peak so you can get rid of it easier i think
Reply:For a cyst you will probably have to go to a dermatologist. I use Retin A to keep from getting a lot of them, but a zap from an electric needle is what the doctor uses. He says that removing cysts would scar. The needle breaks it up. Have you tried hot packs and then a needle?
Reply:I use something I bought at The Vitamin Shoppe called a "blemish touch stick" by Desert Essence that is just flat amazing. I bought it because I was having the same problem constantly, but I can't use salicytic acid or benzoyl peroxide or it gets worse and my skin gets so dry it hurts. This stuff is 100% natural and is by far the best thing on the market. The Burt's Bees tomato cleanser is also wonderful.

My MRI on lower back showed two fairly large tovar cyst, what is that,my back pain is getting worst?
I'm not sure what a 'tovar' cyst is (never heard of it) but a cyst is a sac of fluids and air, or sometimes parasites that aren't necessarily supposed to be there. They can be caused by infections, or nothing at all. Some cysts can be drained depending on where they are, which eliviates or lessens the pain. You may want to seek out the help of a back or spine specialist, who would refer you to a surgeon if it's necessary.

The reason that cysts hurt is because, well, they're just something that's not supposed to be there. They rub agianst other things in your body, causing pain and discomfort. Sometimes they go away on their own, and the pain subsides. Sometimes you'll need to have it drained. Sometimes you can manage the pain with medications, and let it go away on it's own.

I hope everything goes well. :)
Reply:My best guess is that this is obviously making your back pain worse. You should find a spine surgeon to remove it for you. Basically, it sounds like you have a giant growth in your back that needs to be removed.
Reply:Best specialist is Aurther Gramsmith in Jacksonville, Florida. Baptist South Hostital. I would get to him before you have surgery. You will like him.....

Is it safe to have sex 5 days after my cyst surgery? I was advised to have sex 6 weeks after surgery.?

If the doctor advised you not to have intercourse for 6 weeks it must have been for a good reason. Infections can sometimes be worse then the cyst pain you have had. This does not mean you can not do other things........

Is it safe to have sex 5 days after my cyst surgery? I was advised to have sex 6 weeks after surgery.?
well then why are you asking this stupid question. wait 6 weeks retard
Reply:Surely you know the pain of the swelling of cysts...and probably infections...then why don't you wait it out a bit...?
Reply:wait - or tear open the stitches and risk infection

yeah - let's wait - your life is worth it!
Reply:Doctor's don't give you advice just to hear themselves speak. If you were told to wait 6 weeks, having sex now would just be foolish, and possibly harmful.
Reply:If you were advised to wait 6 weeks then wait 6 weeks. Your doctor has good reasons for telling you to wait. Think of your health first.
Reply:Better wait the 6 weeks if you don't want further problems. And No it's not safe until then. My sister has gone through that with the cysts, it's no fun and everyone on here is bringing up infection, they are all very much right. You don't need infection, you could develope infection where the cysts came out, Then your looking at a more serious surgery, you don't want to go through that.

Also, with cyst removed, if you start feeling feverish, get to the hospital right away too. Take care.
Reply:If you were told 6 weeks then i would wait 6 weeks.

My pet dog has had an opperation to remove a cyst on his paw?

ended up been a lot bigger than the vet first thought, so the operation has left him with open sores on his pads on the bottom of his foot that i have to dress with bandages every day, poor mut hasent been out for a walk because the plastic bags are not strong enough, and rip open before we go to far, has any one any ideas what i could use that would be waterproof and would be strong enough to go for a short walk. ive tryed a few things but would really love some help. thanks

My pet dog has had an opperation to remove a cyst on his paw?
Have you tried a zip lock freezer bag? The plastic is much heavier then put a sock over the plastic bag and tape it at the top. They also have self adhesive bandages in rolls you can get at any WalMart or drug store. I've seen them in colors too. It may hold up for a short walk.
Reply:they make Doggie Shoes!(check at your local pet store!)
Reply:did you check with the vet to make sure he is able to walk without hurting him? if he can walk i would buy the little dog shoes. they sell them at every petco or petsmart.
Reply:If doggy shoes dont work, ever thought of baby shoes? (for humans), or a sock on his paw, or wrap an ace bandange around the bandage for thicker padding between the ground and paw.
Reply:put the plastic bags on and tehn lightly wroap in good old duct tape it's the answer for everything

Does a mri scan show if a person has a cyst or cancer?

i have a pelvic mass and been for a mri scan What will mri identify

Does a mri scan show if a person has a cyst or cancer?
yes, cysts and cancers can be identified through mri's. The images will be thin slices of your body in detail so any abnormality will be shown.
Reply:it will see the cyst or lump

but you will have too have

a blood test to find out if its

cancerous
Reply:MRI will show any abnormalities.
Reply:An MRI scan is very good at characterising what kinds of tissue are present based on their chemical composition. It is possible using different sequences (which produce different types of image) to work out whether something is mainly fatty, watery, proteinaceous, has new or old blood in etc. It is then up to the radiologist, working with clinical information provided by the referring doctor, to come up with the most likely diagnosis based on the pattern of tissue composition. e.g. if the referring clinician thinks you have an ovarian cyst (perhaps an incidentally detected lump with no symptoms), and the radiologist sees a thin walled proteinaceous bag filled with almost pure water, then cyst is very likely indeed. However, many pathologies (especially cancers) can have very complex structures and appearances may not be at all typical. Then it is up to the experience and knowledge of the radiologist to give an informed opinion as to the likelies diagnosis. So the answer to your question is 'yes', and MR scan can show if a person has a cyst or a cancer but there are dozens (if not hundreds), or possibilities and subtypes. The bottom line is that a scan rarely yields a result that is unquestionably one thing or another, just most likely one thing or another. It is part of the assessment made by your doctor which includes asking you questions, examining you, doing blood tests etc.
Reply:Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), formerly referred to as magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) and, in scientific circles, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI) or NMR zeugmatography imaging, is a non-invasive method used to render images of the inside of an object. It is primarily used in medical imaging to demonstrate pathological or other physiological alterations of living tissues.

MRI can distinguish tumors from normal tissues and can help the doctor determine the tumor's size, severity, and spread. This is called staging.
Reply:ya it will identify a cyst or lump but u need to have a biopsy done for confirming that it is cancerous.

i m from medical profession
Reply:It will see the mass that you have and will identify its position and size precisely. This can help the consultant have a better idea if it is a benign or cancerous mass. The type of mass can be identifies-type of tissue etc. This helps the dr also. It should give a much clearer picture of things for you in general and open the way for the next stage. You really need biopsy to be sure of identifying if the tissue is cancerous or not. This would most likely be performed by laparoscopy which is keyhole surgery. However it may give a clear enough picture without biopsy, depending on size, contours etc. Hope this helps.

I have an 8 month old boxer. I noticed a cyst like lump under her chin that keeps bleeding. What could it be?

I was hoping that someone with a dog may have had a similar situation and could offer some advice. The vet that I go to isn't open until Monday and I'm worried that it could be something serious that needs to be dealt with now.

I have an 8 month old boxer. I noticed a cyst like lump under her chin that keeps bleeding. What could it be?
I own and breed boxers. 6 months ago my then 1 yr old white boxer had a cyst on her chest that bled, we brought her to the vet and they removed it and had it tested for cancer (she was fine). It is important to bring your dog to the vet and see if they feel it is neccessary to remove, it is also essential that if they want to remove it you insist that "ACE PROMAZINE" or any of it's deritvies are not used (it is a common anesthetic used on dogs) most vets are not concerned with the fact or unaware of the fact that ACE in a boxer can stop the heart and kill your baby. Good Luck
Reply:It could be acne. If you're using a plastic water bowl, switch to metal or ceramic.

Could be some sort of infection, in which case your vet will recommend an antibiotic.
Reply:I would keep it clean and monitor it for growth. If it stays the same size, even if it keeps bleeding, I would take her in as soon as you can. If it grows, or changes texture, I would get her in to an emergency clinic. It is most likely just a cyst, but without seeing it, you can't really tell. Best o ***** with her...
Reply:I think she;ll be Ok till monday. Perhaps you can put a little Bacitracin or Neosporin on it just to prevent more/any infection.
Reply:It could be an infected hair folicle or a sebacious cyst that is draining. Boxers because of there short hair can get infected hair folicles quite easily. I had an english springer spaniel that had the same problem. We used to keep antibotics around for her when she would get a particularly bad problem with them.

You can try putting some peroxide on it to let it boil out if he will stand for it. Or just wait until Monday and talk to the vet.

He is still a puppy and as such still growing and changing. Puppy acne can be a part of that.
Reply:Oh, gee, it could be all kinds of things. Keep it clean and put an ointment on it like Neosporsin until you can get in to the vet.
Reply:could be canine acne. my dog has it and hers bleed sometimes.
Reply:I would definitely take her into the vet asap.Has she been playing with any other dogs and possibly got bitten and the wound got a little infected? Hopefully it isn't anything serious, but boxers are a breed that has a lot of problems with different types of cancers. That would be the worst case scenario but monitor it closely. Kudos for being alert to your puppys well being.
Reply:Could be a reason to take her to the vet asap. Doctor it with neosporin for now.
Reply:I have a mixed boxer and she gets those if I use a plastic bowl for her to drink from. I switched to a metal bowl and my doctor gave me antibiotics for her and it cleared it up. I had someone tell me one time that its normal for boxers (but I don't know for a fact). My vet said also that when they drink and the water drips off their chins that the chin stays moist and that doesn't help them either. He said there's not much to do about that unless you want to dry their chins after they have a drink all the time. :o) He will be fine - just get him some antibiotics. Also, she is right - use neosporin this weekend. :o)
Reply:I also have a boxer and a few months back (July to be exact) I noticed that she had the same problem your dog is having. The cause ended up being she is allergic to plastic. The vet recommended switching to either ceramic or metal feeding bowls. When I switched to metal, the cyst went away in a few days.
Reply:Don't want ot scare you, but Boxers have a high rate of cancers. Tumors or cysts of ant kind should be taken seriously. If you think you can't afford treatment, you have to consider how much your dogs depends on you for his health care. At least get it checked out and go from there. He's counting on you. Good luck.
Reply:My dog has the same thing!
Reply:if it just starts bleeding on its own then its serious and if it bleeds because ur picking at it or he/she is picking at it then its not u need to put like an special cream on it i can not think of the name right now. so just get some sort of healing cream or healing saliva and put it on the bump and put it around the bump and do it for 5-6 weeks or days and if it is still there then u need to go to the emergency vet
Reply:Boxers are known to be tumor factories, however, most of their tumors are benign and harmless but require removal. Keep the area clean with some peroxide mixed with a little water. If the dog will allow a bandage to cover it, do so. They have tiny hair glands on the underside of their chins, it could be one got infected which is quite common. I would see the vet come Monday.

Laboroscopy was performed on me to remove the left endometriasis cyst?

How many days(after laboroscopy) should i wait to keep sex with my husband? How bright is my chance to get conceived? Is there any chance to get pregnant immediately or only after the next month period.

Laboroscopy was performed after 6 days from the start of my period.

Laboroscopy was performed on me to remove the left endometriasis cyst?
I used to have dermoid cysts on my ovaries (both)... which were removed back in Feb. 06 (5 days after the start of my period... and both were removed... still have my ovaries though). My doctor told me to wait for about 2 weeks before I began to to excerise again (including having sex)... and to wait a few months (for a child)... but when I go back in for my after-surgery check up... to ask then. She said that everybody heals differently. When I went in... they checked up on my healing process (I'm the type that heals faster than most)... and told me that I could have a child in about a month (5 weeks after surgery). She suggested that I wait though. The scar tissue from the surgery would take about 6 months to a year to heal. Unfortunately... I have not had a period for about 5 months... and my husband and I are trying to conceive ourselves. I would suggest to make a follow-up appointment (if possible) to see how your progress is doing and to ask your health care provider of any questions that you might have... such as this question. Good luck!!
Reply:Wait for 15 days and go ahead.

You can conceive this month also but better wait for next cycle
Reply:You NEED to ask your doctor who performed the surgery this question. He is your health professional (not Yahoo)
Reply:You must wait 2-3 weeks. best to let things heal before you try to get prego. I would wait til next cycle. Good Luck.

P.S. Doesn't the pain from the gas they put in you suck! I had a laproscopic surgury a few years ago, and it felt like my arms were being ripped off afterwards from the gas! lol
Reply:u should wait atleast 2 months thats wht my doc said
Reply:Laproscopic removal of endometrium cyst has no relation with sex.

If you are ovulating normally %26amp; have regular periods, you have all the chance of conceiving. You need not worry about this since only your left ovary had endometriosis %26amp; only the cyst has been excised but not the complete ovary. Your right ovary is intact.
Reply:wait for sometime before going ahead***********************************...

In my scan report "Right ovary is having a thickwaled cyst with internal echoes (size 4.2 X 3 Cm)" What to do

Left ovary is normal... is the right ovary creats any problem

In my scan report "Right ovary is having a thickwaled cyst with internal echoes (size 4.2 X 3 Cm)" What to do
I presume your doctor will tell you what to do. Sometimes if the cyst gets too big it has to be removed, but best is to consult a

doctor and if you do not trust his or her opinion go to another doctor.

I'm 20 yrs old, I've got a 3cm cyst on my right ovary, do I have anything 2 worry about?

My doctor told me to take birth control pills, and she scheduled me for another ultrasound in 6 months. She said the birth control pills will balance out the hormones. I was on the depo-shot for about a year and a half, and I stopped taking it in August, and ever since then I have been having the weirdest, and most painful periods ever. From October to December, I didn't even stop bleeding!!!!!

MAY I SUGGEST, DITCH THAT DOCTOR AND GET A SECOND OPINION NOW. mY WIFE IS A MIDWIFE BY PROFESSION, SHE URGES YOU TO DO SOMETHING NOW TO MAKE SURE THAT THER IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT IN THE FUTURE, DON'T HESITATE DO IT NOW!!!!!!
Reply:Thank Goodness you going to a doctor about this
Reply:It maybe a fibristic cyst sometimes they pop that is what the DR told me when i had pain on my ovary you should talk to your gyn Dr about this she could tell you, what the worst thing that could happen to you would be..
Reply:if you have difficulty beleiving your doc treatment

you should contact another doc my advise is to get in touch with a GYN that specialized in fertility because you may not want children at the moment but for the future you want to know your uption about what to do with the cyst

I would not wait for 6 month to see if homone work

Good luck
Reply:go see another docter I had a 4cm cyst on right ovary last year ended up in hospital and they ended up taking my ovary as well as the cyst out. Don't leave like I did your too young to lose your ovary. Let them do something now I urge you please

daphne

Do they put you out when doing a sinus retention cyst operation?

My best answer would be yes...but not the typical anesthesia where you are completely out up in the clouds. But it depends on the cyst and how easily it can treated. If the cyst is unable to be reached via a scope (with a camera at the end) you will be given medication to sleep. If the scope is the way, you will be given medication the make you drowsy but awake and you will not remember much--to nothing at all.

I had a laparoscopy done and found endometriosis and a cyst, they have taken it away can i get preg more easy?

It should. I had that same procedure done. I had endo and cysts taken off but i was not having a hard time getting pregnant. I was 18-19 years old when that happened. I do have a 6 year old son now.

I had a laparoscopy done and found endometriosis and a cyst, they have taken it away can i get preg more easy?
Technically you should be able to get pregnant easier. I had endometriosis also. It had clamped down around my fallopian tubes. I had it removed when I was young (19) and got pregnant on the first try at 23. The laparoscopy helps tremendously.
Reply:yes u should, if the cycts and the endo was the only thing holding you back from getting pregnant. Go and give it a shot
Reply:I had this procedure in June and they removed a cyst and also found that I had Endometrial Hyperplasia.I have been diagnosed Pcos.I have been taking Metformin since a year

In August I started chlomid 100 mg and I ovulated with that but could not conceive.

This time I took 150 mg and I am now 3Dpo.
Reply:It really depends on how bad it was..My sil had it done, and she was not able to have another baby...But, here is a website of a doc that is famous for his surgeries, just for your future info..Saw him on the morning news years ago, and his success rate is great!

How much VA disability will you get with a Pilonidal Cyst?

None, as it can removed with no side effects.

People live entire lives with them and live completely normal lives.

It gets a bit uncomfortable once in awhile but that's why it should be removed.

Havent had Period in almost 3 months is it a cyst?

Havent started since a week before halloween and it is now almost the middle of January. So im praying it's just a hormonal thing i started my period when i was 11 and i am now 15. Okay first let me say i am not sexually active so i cannot be pregnant. Second i am stressed out maybe that could be it? I dont exercise often and im getting over weight.

Also when i strech i get a pain in my left abdomen by my hip bone and if i even rub it it hurts. Can anyone help on what could be the problem?

Havent had Period in almost 3 months is it a cyst?
Well, it's very possible that it could be irregular due to your age... that happens a lot. Stress can also make it irregular. The pain could be completely unrelated, but I would go to the doctor to make sure nothing's wrong just in case.
Reply:I am not really sure what it could be, but I know that I frequently get painful cysts that sometimes rupture and it had never stopped me from getting my period... grr... It could be a hormone imbalance, but this would seem weird if you have never had one before. You might want to see a doctor since you have been having it for so long and now you have stopped...
Reply:Some girls have irregular periods. I know I was irregular up until I got birthcontrol pills to regulate it.

As for the pain, go see your doctor about it. Better safe than sorry.
Reply:I took my daughter to the dr for the same things you are describing. She only had 2 periods in a years time. They put her on a hormone that she takes for 14 days a month and now she has a period every month again. So go see a dr and get yourself sorted out, you'll feel better if you do.

Good Luck Hon

Could you buy the stuff dermatoligist use for a face cyst?

do they sell w/e they use at drug stores or something

Could you buy the stuff dermatoligist use for a face cyst?
i dont think so. My friend Mike had a big one on his nose and within a week from going to the dermotologist, it went away.
Reply:Sometimes they will inject cortisone into the cyst. This is dangerous, and has a lot of risks even when a doctor performs the procedure.

But you can buy cortisone cream to rub on the cyst. Just don't use it more than a few days in a row. Cortisone thins the skin and makes it harder to heal with continued use.

Can a women still reproduce if she had and ovarian cyst removed? What are some of the side effects ?

I know a women who had this procedure done and wasn't sure if she could ever give birth.

Can a women still reproduce if she had and ovarian cyst removed? What are some of the side effects ?
Some women get cysts on their ovaries from time to time. While this may cause a little scarring, it shouldn't prevent her from having children. At worst, the scar tissue could prevent her ovary from releasing an egg. Since she has two ovaries, it could decrease her chance of pregnancy, but not end it all together. Keep in mind, I am talking about worst case scenario when I say her ovary is to the point where it can't release an egg. If this is a serious issue, tests such as an HSG (Hysterosalpingogram) can be done. Dye is injected into a woman's reproductive system while x-rays are taken. The dye shows up bright white on the x-ray and can show any places where blockages or abnormalities are located. It only takes about 10 minutes but usually has to be done at a hospital and costs around $1,300 (was covered undered insurance for me).
Reply:i have a cyst right now and i'm pregnant.
Reply:Yes she can, even if the entire ovary was removed she would still have a second ovary. If both ovaries are removed it would prevent pregnancy. Otherwise at worst the damage from the cysts/surgery might impair fertility.
Reply:As long as a woman still has an ovary and is ovulating she should still be able to get pregnant. She should ask her doctor and he can reassure her.
Reply:I JUST HAD SUGERY TO REMOVED A CYST ON MY OVARIE BOUT 6 M ONTHS AGO.. IM 22 YRS OLD. BUT I HAD TROUBLE GETTIN MY PERIOD AND WASNT OVLATING SO IM TRYING TO GET PG NOW SO IM NOT SURE IF I AM OT NOT.. BUT IDK IF THERE R ANY SIDE AFFECTS I HAVENT BEEN TOLD ANYTHING LIKE THAT...
Reply:I've had twins and a son since I had a huge ovarian cyst rupture in me. They thought it was my appendix it was so bad but I've had no effects from it.
Reply:I had severe ovarian cysts for years, I had three surgeries to remove the cysts and have a lot of scar tissue on my ovaries.

But I had no trouble at all conceiving my 2 children.

So it shouldn't be a problem for her.

I just had endometriosis surgery and also a right ovarian cyst removed on feb. 15, 2007.........?

so why does it feel like my pain is worse at times?

i was supposed to get my menstrual cycle on the 20th of feb. but didnt, assuming that it was due to the surgery...

for the past 2weeks my ovaries have been killing me!!!

it seems like it only hurts in the evening or throughout the night and then worse when i wake up in the morning%26gt;im actually waking up due to the pain....

i am assuming that it is ovulation? and waiting to see if my period comes on the 20th of march.... only problem is that i am irregular and my menstrual cycle comes whenever it wants%26gt; even if i were to record it month by month which i have, it still is never right on time... it can come on the 5th of the month even the 9th of the month the 17th or the 20th? i just dont know?

ANYWAY, i would like any info%26gt;none about ENDO...

I just had endometriosis surgery and also a right ovarian cyst removed on feb. 15, 2007.........?
hello, this sounds so familiar to me... i too suffered with endo. to learn more about it went to www.webmd.com and searched endo quite a bit. i didnt have the surgery for endo, but i ended up having a uterine prolapse that resulted in our decision for me having a hysterectomy. i know ur probably no where near that thot but since that would clear up a lot of my pain thats what i opted for. it couldnt be one or the other. i just reread ur question and sorry u said no more info on endo. so lets see............ i really push for u to go to see ur doc again.....on the info side of ovulation maybe reading some of these sites will help.

let me know if u need anyone to talk to send an email. just look at my homepage.

just remember if u need to talk im here.

keep smiling!!!
Reply:Do meditation for an hour daily under the guidance of an experienced spiritual teacher. You should not have any pain in two to five months depending on the amount of surrender you give to your teacher.
Reply:Get practical help from you Dr. the spiritual stuff written here is a load of guff just ignore it.

Go back to your Dr. for analgesics and an explanation as to why you are still in pain, it could be a number of reasons, don't waste any time.......go see him.
Reply:yes you must go to the doctor

What do I do in the case of a coccyx cyst?

For a long time in about 1-1,5 years I've been having this slight coccyx pain when I sat back. Like 3 days ago I couldn't sit well, and all of a sudden 10 mins ago (at about 23:15 gmt+2) I realize pus is draining. Now then, seeing how I do not know what to do in this case, Id like to know like, if i should squeeze out all the pus or let the doc handle the stuff on his own, and if surgery is always necessary (OF COURSE, FEEL FREE TO CONTRIBUTE WITH WHAT YOU KNOW!!(slight panic)). The thing I care about is the coccyx staying in is place, even if the scalpel has to be put on me buttocks unno :p

What do I do in the case of a coccyx cyst?
Since sitting on the affected area may aggravate the condition, a cushion with a cutout at the back under the coccyx is recommended (the donut cushion traditionally recommended by doctors is generally useless for this condition). If there is tailbone pain with bowel movements, then stool softeners and increased fiber in the diet may help. For prolonged cases, anti-inflammatory or pain-relieving drugs may be prescribed. The use of anti-depressants such as Elavil (amiltriptyline) may help alleviate constant pain. Local nerve blocks are often beneficial. Tailbone pain doctors specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New Jersey Medical School have published that sometimes even just a single local nerve block injection at the ganglion impar can give 100% relief of coccydynia when performed under fluoroscopic guidance.
Reply:You need to see a general surgeon, that cyst is usually the result of a twin that did not develope. May have foreign bodies in the cyst itself. Not a major procedure. Good luck.
Reply:let the doc do his thing they will treat it now if your in pain take some pain killers
Reply:,My Nephew had one of those rite on the tail bone(you know at the top of his crack) sorry, it caused him allot of pain, he had to have it removed, they usually have to do it surgically or it will come back it has like a capsule in there that will continue to fill with puss an become infected if you don't. Good luck, oh yeah it started to come back getting sore in the same spot, my Mom suggested he drink this stuff called "Monavie" it's some kinda juice like Noni it seemed to help it went away. who knows. Good luck with yiur ****!! sorry I couldnet help myself.

While getting my ultrasound today, the tech saw a ovarian cyst. Do I have to worry?

He said that they are normal with woman and that they come and go. He said I shouldnt worry but I cant help it. Anyone else out there experienced this?

While getting my ultrasound today, the tech saw a ovarian cyst. Do I have to worry?
Perfectly normal. 75% of women have them.
Reply:Get it checked out by your doctor asap. It could be malignant, or it could cause a serious problem.
Reply:i have one right now. they are usually fluid filled and u dont have to worry about them. the doctors sometimes want to do a repeat in 3 to 6 months just to be sure it isnt actively growing.
Reply:Not to worry. My Dr. said the same thing. It wasn't a problem for me at all.
Reply:don't worry unless u bleed or have bad pain, i had cysts before and while being pregnant, and everything was fine.
Reply:Some women have ovarian cysts that spontaneously erupt on their own and cause no real problems. If it is causing you pain or discomfort then speak to your physician.
Reply:No reason to worry, usually. You get a cyst every time you have a period, sometimes the stick around for awhile, sometimes they rupture, but they shouldn't cause any serious problems.
Reply:my friend has one, they go away after awhile but they're painful... good luck :-)
Reply:i haven't personally being a guy i think that'll be a little on the impossible side. but i have had a few patients with them and they are mostly in lots and lots of pain. but your baby should be fine
Reply:I had this at about 20 weeks with my first pregnancy, it went away after I delivered and it never came back, even in my subsequent pregnancy.
Reply:That is why the tech shouldn't be telling you anything. They are not properly trained to do so and they cannot give medical advice. Your records will be checked by your physician and s/he can tell you more about this. Usually it isn't a problem if it is a cyst but you will have to wait.
Reply:my mom had ovarian cysts and she had surgery to remove them a couple times because they came back. They had alwasy been on her left side so they removed her left ovari and then one grew on her right side so they had do remove both of her overies. (over the course o5 15 years or so) in that time she had 2 kids (after me) so its not plesant by any means, but from what i gather from her case is that you can still have as many kids as you want, provided you just get the cyst removed rather then getting them removed
Reply:I have a friend that had a HUGE cyst while she was pregnant, but in her uterus. They just did a c-section when the time came for the baby, removed the cyst first, and then her son. It was no biggie, I wouldn't worry. Especially if the tech tells you it's okay, he knows what he's doing.
Reply:if it is small n not growing more no need to worry . if there will be any problem they will check it again after some time n tell u about it. u can ask the Dr. also about it she can guide u bettr.
Reply:I have PCOS...and I'm pregnant with my second child...I have cysts currently and well, did with my frist too..he's completely normal and healthy. If your doctor isnt worried you shouldnt be.
Reply:I have the same thing im in my 2nd trimester pregnant with twins and they say that is such a common thing. If there was a major concern about yours im sure the doctor would have taken precautions when he found it. Also he said to me my twins were conceived from that ovary so figure that one out?
